Set the treatment duration and pulse repetition rate as desired. There is no single universal “optimal” duration or pulse repetition rate (PRF) for photoacoustic therapies, as these depend on the specific goal, tissue target, device design, and safety limits. Choose a duration setting to broadcast for either 3, 6 or 9 minutes. You can repeat or choose a different setting if you wish. Set your PRF confident that the three options provide short bursts keeping heat negligible. These settings provide the most commonly recommended PRFs: (1) 1kHz; (2) ~1.7 kHz; and (3) 2kHz.

1. 1 kHz — Frequently used for nerve cell photoacoustic therapies balancing acoustic wave generation with safety and efficacy.

2. ~1.7 kHz — The most prevalent in high-precision photoacoustic neural stimulation research, with minimal thermal risks.

Next, begin your therapy session by tapping any color tile to broadcast its sound and light frequencies simultaneously.
